Early voting starts today.
One Week of Early Voting – Due to Easter and San Jacinto Day, early voting only lasts one week this cycle (ends next Tuesday, 4/29). Statistically, school bonds have a much higher probability of passing when early voting traffic is high. So, encourage everyone to skip the line on Election Day and exercise their right to VOTE EARLY!
Remind Staff About Purpose of Bond Funds – Remind teachers that bond funds can only be used for construction, technology, facility upgrades, buses, etc. Bond revenue cannot be used for teacher compensation. However, facility upgrades & improvements made with bond dollars can create operational efficiencies that free up money to be redirected to staff salaries (i.e. energy efficient facilities reduce electric bills… and the difference can be used for salary adjustments or to hire additional staff).
Mobilize Staff – The school district is the largest employer in town. Staff turnout alone can make the difference in the outcome of your election. Send “get out the vote” messengers to each campus to remind everyone to go vote this week. Create opportunities to make voting easy and convenient.
